Introduction

As of 2018, Tân Hiệp Phát (THP) is Vietnam’s largest family-owned manufacturer in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods category (FMCG), employing more than five thousand staff members nationwide. We have a 15 to 20 percent domestic market share, ranking alongside multinationals such as Coca-Cola and Japan’s Suntory.

Our story is one of a national brand once courted by one of the largest corporations in the world – Coca-Cola – with a $2.5 billion dollar buy-out offer.  It’s a story and reality of a brand that continues to thrive due to aspiring businessmen and women who faced extreme challenges, but also unique opportunities.

These experiences drove both my parents to strive even harder to create a successful business for themselves and their family. My parents created one of Vietnam’s leading companies through a combination of talent, hard work, and simply being in the right place at the right time.

It’s possible to build a thriving local company and turn it into what you desire.  There are several guiding principles all companies should abide by if they want to be successful. They may seem obvious, and yet so many companies fail to adhere to them. It normally catches up with them in the end.
